Biographical Info

Ezra Wilson is a freelance writer and SEO specialist who lives with his family in the mountains near Asheville North Carolina. Ezra was raised in an evangelical Christian background and earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls, Georgia.

After his graduation, Ezra underwent a series of personal and spiritual crises that led him to adopt a more ecumenical form of spirituality. He counts Alfred North Whitehead and Charles Hartshorne among his spiritual mentors.

Today Ezra embraces a process-oriented worldview that draws insights from all of the world’s great religious traditions. He practices mindfulness meditation and is affiliated with a Buddhist sangha in Asheville. He is also a member of the Episcopal Church USA.

Ezra has had a passion for science his entire life. His childhood hero was Clyde Tombaugh, the astronomer who discovered the planet Pluto in 1930. He is active in his local astronomy club and hosts special observing events, known as “star parties,” at scenic spots throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains. He regards himself as an ambassador for astronomy and for science in general.

Ezra is also a trained moderator and facilitator for the organization Braver Angels, which fosters dialogue between conservatives and progressives. His favorite Christian scripture is Matthew 5:9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
