I am a Presbyterian elder, currently worshipping online with a Methodist community in Reno, Nevada. I retired about two years ago. Before that I worked as a librarian and educator, I have taught preschoolers through college students in the fields of early literacy, history, earth science, and environmental education. We moved frequently, so I did the kind of work available at the time and place. In retirement I am volunteering and doing social justice work, I remain interested in progressive theology, history, politics and children's literature to promote racial inclusivity. I am married to still-working engineer and fabulous chef. We are the parents of three sons and are excited about becoming grandparents. My children, who are mathematicians and scientists, have been alienated by traditional conservative and evangelical practices of Christian churches. That motivates me want to reform the church. I want it to be inviting to critical thinkers.
