I am a former elementary school teacher, reading specialist, English as a Second Language teacher, and professor of reading education. I am currently serving as a part-time, adjunct professor in literacy education; and an adult literacy volunteer. 

I am "falling upward" (in the words of Richard Rohr) into my second half of life, which is emerging as a focus on integrating contemplative and other spiritual wisdom with my passion for and knowledge of literacy and literacy education.

My spiritual path is aligned with the Quaker faith, contemplative Christianity, inter-spiritual wisdom, practical spirituality, and process and open/relational theologies.
