Biographical Info
Missy Lahren, JD, PhD has worked as environmental activist and public interest lawyer in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1993. In addition to citizen suits under federal law, she has focused on expanding enforceable human and ecological rights through participatory media and board positions at Unite for Rights, Planetary Advocates, and Eleanor Lives. Currently, she serves as Chairman of the Board of the Earth Law Center, an international law and advocacy organization that focuses on rights of nature, indigenous legalities, and movement lawyering. During COVID she finished a MEd in Integral Education and a PhD in Philosophy and Religion both of which focused on the emerging field of “ecozoic education.” In 2021, she published a middle school curriculum for Earth Day grounded in multiple intelligence and systems theory.
