I am a spiritual director, writer, artist, and a retired United Methodist pastor, happily living at Pilgrim Place in Claremont, CA. I am a native Californian whose first career was as an elementary school teacher before a call to ordained ministry changed the path of my life. On that path I married Chuck Myer, a wonderful UM lay person who followed me in my first two appointments. We had two children. We were together 25 years until he died from cancer. On the bereavement journey, which is lifelong, my kids became bright young adults, graduated from university, and started their own lives. I married again, to Paul Colbert, an Episcopal priest I met in my next appointment after Chuck died. New life comes to us even in grief. I serve on the Committee for Christian Unity and Inter-religious Relations for the California Nevada Annual Conference.. Spirituality and religions are my passions!
